Hydrophilic GRADES

Hydrophilic fumed silica is the basic form of this silica-based polymer, with a tendency of absorbing moisture. The hydrophilic nature is a result of the attachment of hydroxyl groups onto silica atoms at the surface of the particle.

Technically it is untreated, directly produced from the reaction of oxyhydrogen flame and Silicon tetrachloride to form droplets (primary particles) of silicon dioxide, and aggregated.

XYSILL^® hydrophilic fumed silica is divided into several main grades according to their specific surface area: XYSIL150, XYSIL 200, XYSIL 300 and XYSIL 380. On this basis, it is further divided into P and F series according to the application market.

HYDROPHOBIC GRADES

Hydrophobic fumed silica is based on hydrophilic fumed silica, react with active silanes (Hexamethyldisilazane, Dimethyldichlorosilane or Polydimethylsiloxane) and chemically bonding hydrophobic groups.

It shows water-repellent properties and cannot be dispersed in water, making it suitable for applications requiring moisture resistance and imporved rheological properties, and easy to disperse in certain systems.

XYSILL^® hydrophobic fumed silica series has: XYSIL R120B, XYSIL R120H, XYSIL R170H, XYSIL R230, XYSIL R2000. They have different features to meet customer needs.
